MyBethesdaDoctor is an independent editorial directory. We do not accept payment for placement, and listings are not advertisements.

What we weigh

Every doctor is evaluated on a consistent set of signals: official physician profiles from health systems, board certification and training pedigree, hospital affiliations, peer recognition such as Washingtonian Top Doctors, and patient-review systems with verifiable provenance.

Which reviews we trust

We prioritize review data with transparent methodology. Johns Hopkins publishes ratings from CG-CAHPS surveys administered through Press Ganey. Zocdoc collects reviews from patients who booked through the platform. We treat open-submission sites with small samples as weaker, secondary evidence.

What this is not

Top Doctor awards and online ratings are useful signals, but they are not clinical outcome data. Our rankings reflect reputation and patient experience, not a guarantee of results. Always verify board certification, insurance participation, concierge fees, and new-patient status directly with a provider before booking.

Keeping listings fresh

Each profile shows the date it was last fact-checked. Healthcare details change often, so we revisit listings regularly and welcome corrections.
